When it comes to the whole Wisconsin union battle fiasco, I think the most concerning issue a lot of us seem to have is how the conclusion of the current stalemate will effect the future of the rest of the country. I mean it does get a bit worrisome to think that an extreme precedent could suddenly become the new American standard, but are there other solutions?

Now when I get involved in the typical union debate, I think I have a generally good understanding of both sides of the argument. I’ve always said that balance between the two sides is the key to success. Therefore, I find any argument quite silly when someone trashes the unions but supports Wal-Mart or vice versa. I don’t like the fact that unions abuse their power anymore than I don’t like the fact that corporations tend to keep the little people down. However, I’ve always stood by my belief that no matter what, everyone who works a 40 hour work week has a right to earn a respectable standard of living. It disgusts me when incompetent workers hide behind their union, but it disgusts me even more when executives and shareholders are making fortunes off the backs of low-income workers.

Now I understand that the union in Wisconsin was putting a huge drain on the taxpayers, but eliminating most of their collective bargaining rights? Now I’m certainly not in favor of greedy unions holding government and corporations hostage, but under no circumstances should we allow collective bargaining to be dismissed. I know a lot of people would love to see all the unions go bust, but that sounds like the dawn of a scary new age of Feudalism to me, and that certainly doesn’t sound very American, does it?

Another point I would like to make about the potential busting of the Wisconsin union is what will it really accomplish long term? Busting the union isn’t going to magically fix the debt, so what is the next step? Where does the madness end? Is it really going to be possible to fix the financial problems that Wisconsin and most of the rest of the nation is facing? Or is it more likely that all of these people are going to needlessly suffer over imaginary numbers that can’t ever be paid back anyway?

So with 46 states on the verge of bankruptcy, isn’t there a much better solution to our financial woes that doesn’t involve draining taxpayers or busting unions?

Of course! A controversial idea? Absolutely! And since there have been recent comparisons between the protests of Wisconsin to the protests of Egypt, it starts to make wonder….

How soon is too soon for Wisconsin and many other states to have a serious, open-minded discussion about the real possibility of declaring state sovereignty?

Hypothetically, what if Wisconsin decided to fix her problems by literally declaring herself a sovereign nation? In theory, wouldn’t it be the better long term solution? Sure it might be considered a “radical” idea at first, but does anyone seriously think there’s a more realistic long-term solution that doesn’t involve some sort of allowance to default on the debt? I feel like the states are all being held hostage with absurd mathematics! Can you imagine what it would be like if individuals weren’t allowed to declare bankruptcy? And debts were passed on to your children? At what point are the states able to actually default on their debt? How bad does the economy really have to get? Or would the Fed just keep bailing them out with endless amounts of inflated currency?

But what if amidst all the Federal laws, measures, and proposals to stop it; Wisconsin declared herself sovereign and independent from the rest of the country? What would really happen?

Would we co-exist with Wisconsin peacefully? Do you think we would really take military action against our own people to prevent them from leaving us? Would we treat them the way we have treated Cuba? Would we bar them from conducting business by implementing unfair trade embargoes? If that were the case, would Wisconsin be able to be self-sufficient?

Seriously, at what point do the people and the states acknowledge the fact that the federal system has completely failed, and we start the economy over? Or are we planning to live in austerity for the rest of our lives while the bankers, politicians, and elites keep downplaying the problems by selling us ridiculous future promises? Ever notice that no matter how bad the economy gets, it doesn’t really seem to affect them? Of course they want you to keep playing the game and keep you in massive, endless debt! They love the system because it really works well…for them!

So just how obvious does the corruption and economic absurdity really have to get before the people start demanding state independence as a serious solution?

If the standoff in Wisconsin is truly going to be the first domino that sets the precedent for the rest of the nation, shouldn’t it be a precedent that isn’t bleak and horrible? I sure hope so, but crushing unions isn’t going to be the magic solution, it’s only going to hurt a lot of innocent people and their families. And when you take the debt out of the equation, and acknowledge the fact that there are plenty of resources to go around, does it really make any sense for us to sacrifice our standard of living over a failed economic system that has created an illusion of scarcity?

Call me kooky, but I think it’s time to start thinking about 21st century solutions to fix 20th century problems, and defaulting on debt seems like a good start in the right direction. But by all means, if you want to bust the unions, and spend the next umpteen years suffering over artificial scarcity in a futile attempt to pay back a debt created by fraudulent fractional-reserve banking, be my guest…

Donald Rumsfeld: dark-side Jedi-master of bullshit artistry:

So this is the second time I’ve written about a confrontation with Rumsfeld, but like last time, I also have to give him credit for at least being approachable and trying to give a believable answer. Most tyrants such as Dick Cheney, John Bolton, or Newt Gingrich simply try to escape, while other tyrants get lucky when security takes care of the dissident before they are forced to respond. Thus, the tyrant gets let mercifully off the hook, and they don’t have to be on the spot to address serious and legitimate questions they weren’t prepared to answer.

Now I definitely don’t support or justify every dissident’s confrontation tactics, as a few have gotten overly and unnecessarily disruptive. However, if the “culprits” are above the law, and the media won’t ask them challenging questions about real issues followed by demanding real answers in return like they are supposed to, than shouldn’t it be the duty of the citizenry to fill the void the controlled media left behind? With the growing uncertainty in the future of our world, a severe lack of transparency in government and economics, as well as near ludicrous world-wide corruption, should we blame these courageous citizens for speaking out? And besides, it’s pretty obvious that these culprits are hiding things from us isn’t it? I know I’m getting tired of the softball questions, bullshit answers, and the endless amount of false promises, aren’t you?

Say what you want about these protesters, but they truly believe they are doing the right thing, and despite a few backfires, I completely agree. I mean let’s face it: while this emerging style of citizen journalism can be viewed as harassment, the truth is that this “harassment” is merely a symptom caused by all the rampant secrecy and corruption!

It’s really sad when our society has actually degraded to the point where basic principles like honesty, integrity, and transparency within the government and media have become outrageous concepts. The good news however, is that you no longer need to be at the mercy of what the media feeds you. Are you as fed up with the news and politicians as these people are? Don’t just sit there, do something about it! You have the power to be your own journalist! And there’s no better time than now to get involved!

The first four minutes is the most relevant part of the confrontation. My favorite part is at 3:30 where Rove is finally ‘safe,’ and is able to comfortably revert back into his natural form; I guess which could only be described as some sort of demonic pig-like creature. What, did you think Karl Rove was a sentient and compassionate human being? Does that look like an innocent man to you? What a pathetic and disgusting slime-ball…

This video is just completely awesome! It starts as a simple public speech and quickly turns into an epically awkward meltdown. What I find the most disturbing though, is the number of passionate Rove fans in the audience; seriously, who goes to a Karl Rove speech? What does it say about someone when they actually go out of their way to hear what this demon pig creature says? Thank you citizen journalists for courageously standing up and exposing this tyrant! Keep up the excellent work!

“That report is at odds with a recent report by the BP spill compensation czar that said nearly all will be well by 2012.”

“Magic microbes consumed maybe 10 percent of the total discharge, the rest of it we don’t know,” Joye said, later adding: “there’s a lot of it out there.”

“The head of the agency in charge of the health of the Gulf said Saturday that she thought that “most of the oil is gone.”

“And a Department of Energy scientist, doing research with a grant from BP from before the spill, said his examination of oil plumes in the water column show that microbes have done a “fairly fast” job of eating the oil.”

It must be easy keeping a secret and then keeping the public in the dark about it when we can’t actually see the problem. Are you wondering what it is that they don’t want you to see? Remember all the fuss about a dispersant called “corexit” that roused up some issues with the EPA?

How to Make a Clunky Exposé about a Dirty Old Oil Tycoon

I don’t know if many people noticed, but in case you missed it, one of the world’s most revolting tyrants just made a public appearance on the Daily Show. It’s completely understandable that most people didn’t realize it at the time, but I want to make sure that doesn’t happen again by helping you familiarize yourself with him now.

In a nutshell, I happened to notice something recently that most probably did not. And I think it’s so important for you to be informed with that knowledge, that I actually feel a responsibility to report on it. Hopefully I can make you aware of this, because there could actually be future consequences if information like this is not shared.

The tyrant in question is a man named T. Boone Pickens, and if you don’t start paying attention to him, he might be playing a much larger role in your future…and unless you’re a family member, a friend, a business partner, or a shareholder; it’s probably not going to be a future you’re going to want to live in.

I’m guessing he made an appearance on the Daily Show because he knows he has developed a bit of an image problem lately. But rather than address those problems with honest, persuasive answers; he completely dodges them. And judging by a few of his responses, I actually suspect he thought Jon Stewart wouldn’t ask about them. That lack of preparedness shows me that this man is so arrogant, and thinks that everyone around him is so stupid, that if he just gets up there and talks long enough, you’ll eventually believe him. And to be fair, it’s been a winning formula for decades. However, it’s time for all of us to stop being fooled by people like this.

First, let me show you the interview in question:

2:00- 2:30 Jon calls him out on his BS

2:30- 2:40 I have the clip they are talking about here: the most relevant part is at (1:40-5:00)

2:55-4:05 yes, this guy really thinks you’re all stupid enough to believe what he’s telling you! But like I said, it’s been a winning formula for decades. The problem now is that it’s getting a lot harder for people like him to keep selling us on an old script we are all too familiar with. Unfortunately for Pickens, the whole charming tycoon with the endless future promises shtick just doesn’t have the same impact it used to. He made a good effort, but I’ve already seen this movie before, and I’m well aware of how it ends. So does Jon, and so should all of you.

3:45 looks like a lie followed by a quick dodge of the question to me.

4:30-6:10 Jon puts him on the spot, and I’m willing to bet the response you heard is a very carefully worded lie. Thankfully, Stewart calls him out on it again. Rather than address it like I mentioned though, Pickens completely dodges the issue because he doesn’t want you to know about what Jon is alluding to.

6:14 one more quickie; I have to admire how Pickens says “I’ll stay an hour…” Like I said, he thinks that you’re so stupid, that if given enough time, he will eventually convince you to buy the BS that he’s trying to sell you.

But wait, what’s the big secret about the natural gas industry that Jon alluded to, and T. Boone doesn’t want to talk about? Let me show you:

Don’t you find it odd that T. Boone does a big national interview and didn’t even mention the documentary Gasland? Of course not, he’s so arrogant, wealthy, and powerful that he thinks he can do whatever he wants. As long as he dodges the issues, distracts you with false promises, and keeps talking long enough, you’ll be stupid enough to go along with it.

So now let’s check out a couple of highlights from the Daily Show interview with the creator of Gasland, Josh Fox here

2:15-3:00 Speak of the devil. A certain tycoon’s name gets mentioned, followed by another little secret you’re not supposed to know about.

4:00-7:00 debunking the debunkers? What’s really going on with the energy industry? And what are we going to do about it?

So who seems more believable? Josh Fox? Or old T. Boone?

If you haven’t seen enough proof yet, I have a few more optional highlights. Remember when Pickens says “I’ll stay an hour?” Well here is the extended interview clip, with a few more highlights I can point out, but like I said, completely optional viewing:

7:35 let’s hear the energy plan…except he doesn’t really explain anything! Apparently the idea hinges on a strong political leader emerging, but there isn’t anyone available at this time. Oh really? And then he also wants the whole trucking industry so he can change their fuel source from diesel to natural gas. As if this guy really needs more money and power…

15:35-16:25 Stewart sounds like he’s heard enough of the BS story.

18:10-19:00 Jon digs in and puts him on the spot one more time about the fracking and is again met with a completely ridiculous answer, but at least we all got to see this creep squirm one last time. After this last laughable dodge, I don’t think anyone should have reason to believe anything this guy says about his business dealings ever again.

20:20-22:15 some very good final points by Jon between tired old ramblings from a tired old dinosaur.

All in all, this was a terrific interview by Jon Stewart. He knows this guy is completely full of s___, but still gave him a golden opportunity to make a good showing for an important audience. Big thanks to Stewart for his unwavering skepticism and for putting this tyrant on the spot on more than one occasion. I know it wasn’t easy to let him off the hook, but I can empathize in his situation, as it was the professional thing to do.

Now if those clips still aren’t enough proof to convince you that T. Boone is a revolting tyrant, I’ve got some really big news for you… there’s still one other secret Pickens doesn’t want you to know about, and it wasn’t even mentioned on the Daily Show either.

This is why I told you in the beginning that I felt a responsibility to inform everyone about this, because if I hadn’t also recently seen the following clip, I never would have been able to put both pieces of the puzzle together to form the far sinister bigger picture.

You see oil and natural gas aren’t the only two resources T. Boone has his greedy fingers in. Did you know that he also bought massive amounts of land over the largest aquifer in the United States? Are you ready to know why this is this significant?

Not only has Pickens been implicated in contaminating the nation’s water supply, he’s also buying up the available fresh water in hopes of selling it back to us!

1:30-2:15 would you define that as good business? Or selling your soul?

This isn’t a conspiracy theory people! This is the world and the reality that you live in! And I’ve just shown you proof!

You want a conspiracy theory? I’ll give you one:

How about T. Boone Pickens actually wants to poison the water supply on purpose! Through a process of “influencing” enough of the “right people,” he gets the U.S. off foreign oil by promising less expensive (and domestic) natural gas. Then, Pickens finds a way around the pesky environmental laws and helps cover up or downplay all the environmental hazards caused from fracking by “influencing” the media through lucrative partnerships and advertising deals.

Then, after he poisons enough of our water and takes over enough of the natural gas, he will create artificial scarcity to jack up the prices and literally play God with us by controlling the resources we need to survive. Need heat or water much? But don’t worry, I’m sure he will still make public interviews…they will just be entirely rehearsed so he will always look good. He will also get to dust off and keep re-using the old scripts along with a seemingly endless myriad of future promises that always seem to go unfulfilled. But by the time you finally figure out that he’s actually the guy responsible for the problems, it’ll be too late! You’ll be so dependent on him for survival that you’ll go along with whatever he says out of fear…

Now that’s a conspiracy theory! None of those last two paragraphs are factual, but like any good theory, it’s believable enough to at least deserve some critical thinking.

Needless to say, I don’t think many people want to live in that possible future. However, in order for us to prevent that future from occurring, the people are going to have to be informed about what’s really going on. Therefore, this is a call for public knowledge, because that nightmare future scenario isn’t as far fetched as you might think, and is easily avoidable if enough of the public is aware of it.

So now let me ask you a hypothetical question; if that conspiracy theory turned out to be mostly true someday, and that IS the future that awaits us, would you want me to warn you about it?

Now do you understand my responsibility to inform you about this man? Do you really think I spent a week writing a voluntary exposé on a powerful billionaire as a joke?

Whatever the truth may be, I honestly don’t blame T. Boone Pickens so much as I blame the broken system for allowing people like him to thrive. The fact that any individual can accumulate that much wealth and influence should be alarming. What kind of future do we want to live in?

In order to change the system however, we are going to have to start becoming more informed. And people like T. Boone flourish because they count on us to be gullible and uninformed. Stop being fooled!

Mubarak, Groundhog Day and the Economic Hitman:

It’s really discouraging to see the reaction from Washington regarding the revolution in Egypt, but hardly surprising to me either.

My personal opinion is that Washington is really hoping to keep Mubarak in power and desperately trying to figure out a way to keep him in place. It’s just a matter of whether or not they can convince themselves that the Egyptian people will believe a really well constructed bullshit story or not. Since said story will have to involve Mubarak’s stay in power, I’m guessing it’s not going to work; and judging by the reaction I’ve been seeing on TV, I’d say that after thirty years, those people have pretty much heard it all by now.

Shutting down the internet was completely chicken-shit, and has only made things worse. All the people want is truth, transparency, and an end to senseless brutality and corruption. Cutting off their communication is only causing confusion, unnecessary violence, and showing how desperate and out of touch this dictatorship is. Hey Mubarak, you want to win your people back? Why don’t you turn the net back on and start answering questions like; was all of the tyranny necessary over the last thirty years? Did your people really deserve to be treated that way? Was it possible that they could have been freer and more prosperous? Why did you allow your people to live under harsh control for so long when you had the power to literally change it overnight?

Should Mubarak be pitied instead of prosecuted? Since Groundhog Day is coming up, I’m reminded of the movie and starting to wonder; if Mubarak switched places with Bill Murray’s character from the movie, and he had to keep redoing the same period of time over and over (just before the protests), how long do you think it would be before he finally got things right?

I think it would be very difficult to guess because it could go on an extremely long time. I’m not saying that to try to be mean or funny, my reasoning is because I think Mubarak’s mind is so far removed from reality, that his natural instinct would most likely be to keep trying to perfect his dictatorial control until he got things “right” (and by right, meaning he had the perfect system in place to stay in power).

However you view it though, Mubarak wasn’t alone. What could we, as American allies, have done differently?

Unfortunately, our government isn’t exactly the role model of the world anymore. Most likely our view was; who cares if he’s a horrible dictator? And who cares that the Egyptian police were hated for being notoriously cruel and corrupt? As long as their country helped to serve OUR military and economic interests, and could keep their people under control, who really cared about their rights and personal freedoms?

Don’t believe me? Or maybe you’re wondering why I feel this way? Because I’ve got news for you; your government has been in bed with corrupt dictators and nefarious foreign economic and military policies for decades, and we the people have been turning a blind eye towards it in the name of false security and cheap foreign goods and labor for quite a long time.

I want to introduce you to a man named John Perkins. He is a self-described “economic hit-man.” According to him and his book, he was one of the guys sent by our country to persuade world leaders to play ball with us, or else… but I’ll let him explain this concept in this very informative and thought provoking attached video.

Whether we share some of the blame or not with the events in Egypt, there is a truth about America’s dark side of foreign policy that they do not want the world to see.

I hope the Egyptians and the good people of the Middle East can forgive us for our country’s misbehavior and realize that it is not us everyday Americans that are their enemy.

Like Mubarak, our American leaders also have some serious questions to answer, and all good people are going to have to unite and stand together against this corruption if we ever hope to create a better world.

Rachel Maddow Needs to be Overthrown to Protect the People from Her Lies and BS ;-)

Dear Rachel,

I don’t personally like guns, and I think we would both agree that we don’t like the idea that unstable people can sometimes have access to them.

However, there are a few points that I think we differ on, so let’s take a look at the video:

For example, at 4:45-5:05 You say “The realization that the only reason that the alleged shooter was able to kill and wound so many people is because he could fire thirty bullets before he stopped to reload, because he had a high capacity magazine that would not have been legal for him to buy had the ban on that not expired in 2004…”

Let me be clear Rachel, that’s YOUR realization. My realization is that is certainly not the “only” reason. The reality: It doesn’t take a gun expert to know that with a gun like that, it only takes a few seconds to unload and reload a new clip. Or to un-holster a second gun, how about a third?

Alright, so you get into your point about 5:30 that “We can’t do anything about guns?” Why not? There is always time for healthy, logical debate. How about instead we try not to rush to judgment since this just happened. A radical assertion? So if you were dictator for a day, would you have passed a gun ban last Tuesday without warning?

I would think that putting hasty new restrictions on gun laws during a time of record-level national dissent and distrust of government could end up becoming the powder keg that starts a very confusing and unnecessary revolution.

6:30 – 7:55 here are three men’s opinions I completely agree with. However, you refer to their opinions as a radical view? And that they are “radicals” on gun policy? Our forefathers put the second amendment in the constitution for a reason.

6:45-7:05 here is something I have a huge problem with: Representative Broun clearly says the word, “protect.” And you deliberately twisted that into the word “overthrow.” You even smugly read it off your own notes, and even emphasized the word! You openly lied! Not only did you LIE, we see your true colors on this issue, and it’s far from an objective view now isn’t it?

So at 8:44-10:00ish, you begin to make your big point that is so far-fetched and idiotic that I actually felt a little embarrassed watching you go through that with a straight face. Are you under control by the powers that be Rachel? Or do you really believe your own BS? You actually say (at 8:44) that anyone with the “radicals” like Rep. Broun, Ron Paul, or Alex Jones wants to overthrow the government?

At 9:04 you also said “…because in their view, to do right by the constitution, you and I need to be able to defeat the U.S. military in battle! We need to overthrow the U.S. government!” Rachel, since you didn’t give us any examples, I’m curious; is it even possible to support the second amendment without being a radical revolutionist?

These men are not radicals, but you’re certainly trying very hard to make people think they are. However, your argument is so absurd that you literally have to lie to try to make them look bad!

What happened in Arizona was a horrible tragedy, but like it or not, guns are here to stay.

I don’t like the idea either, but I have a solid understanding of history, and our forefathers created the second amendment for very good reason. When a country’s government is corrupt, and its people have no ability to protect themselves, history shows that tyrannies have a tendency to emerge.

Therefore, looking at history, and looking at the rest of the world in the present, it could be said that the primary reason we are not under a tyranny right now is because of the Bill of Rights. This document is what made America great, and this is what made our forefathers great. Not only did they put a system in place that relied on checks and balances between the three branches of government, but we can almost think of the Bill of Rights as a system of checks and balances between the government and its people.

The history of human government is so tyrannical, that our founding fathers literally had to escape from Europe and start their own country! And they still had to have a revolution to keep it! Then they wrote the Bill of Rights to protect the people so that they would never again be subjugated to the horrors of an oppressive regime!

Rachel, maybe you trust the government and believe your own BS, but I think the majority of the rest of us do not. Not only is it quite clear to me that these “radicals” seem to know a little bit more about history and American patriotism than you do, they don’t need to make things up and lie to make their points about it.

Unbeknownst to most people, one of the biggest terrorists that ever lived was a banker named Mayer Amschel Rothschild. You may be familiar with one of the variations of his famous quote: “Give me control of a nation’s money, and I care not …who makes her laws.” For those that don’t know, many researchers consider the Rothschilds to be the richest, most powerful family in the world.

Since there is so much recent controversy about the future of our first amendment (Wikileaks, draconian internet laws etc.), I think if Mayer were alive today, he would probably quote something like: “Give me the power to control a nation’s media, and I will have the people worship Obama like the North Koreans worship Kim Jong-il.”

If you don’t believe me, I say this because I’m currently watching a third documentary on North Korea. Holy bizarro world Batman! If you want to see what life is like without free speech and internet; or if you want to see how it’s possible to keep a population completely brainwashed and in constant fear, the above video is a link to the one (out of the three documentaries I have personally watched) that I found the most interesting.

It has some good parts, but it (ironically enough) feels like watching biased American propaganda; you know, it feels scripted/rehearsed, the journalist acts a little too “corporate,” and it feels like a lot of important details were “edited” out.

The latest one I started is called “A state of Mind,” (also on instant Netflix) and so far it’s decent (I’m about halfway through), even though it also feels a bit too rehearsed. This documentary focuses on the lives of a couple of young girls that tirelessly train to be gymnasts so they can one day participate in the “Mass Games” and please their dictator god. If you don’t know what the “Mass Games” are, then you absolutely must watch just this one clip (and you’ll thank me).

The reality in North Korea is not a conspiracy theory. And if you don’t think that their reality can happen here in America, think again. This is a serious lesson in the evolution of humanity; if we the people give a corrupt government control of free speech and the media, our worst nightmare is only a matter of when, not if.

The last ten seconds say it all…

Dear Senator,

We the people have a solution to this problem…how about people that think the government should have the power to shut down the internet move to China instead!

Senator, if you need any help packing, please do not hesitate to ask us. As you probably know, moving is a stressful experience and we want to show you some good old-fashioned American hospitality. Why? Because most of us are good people, and that’s just what good people do. But more importantly, we want to make sure there isn’t any time lost so you can leave our country as soon as possible!

Thanks for the memories Joe, but your ideas are no longer going to be useful in our new future… but good luck in China!

Wikileaks, The First Amendment, and why the Emerging Alternative Media Rocks (or Raps):

Wow, this is surprisingly well done! A warning though: Hillary Clinton, Bill O’Reilly, and the government do not want you to watch this! So on behalf of our loving government, I must ask you to please ignore this video, and go back to watching government approved media like CNN, FOX, and MSNBC until the government can use Wikileaks to shut down the alternative media, and finally destroy that pesky first amendment.
